And unless if you're using RTSS (which adds input lag btw), whatever framerate limiter you're using probably doesn't guarantee constant frametimes anyway.

Depends on the cap and also on the game you play. I usually like to cap games (except CS GO) @ my monitor's refresh rate and enable GSYNC and VSYNC in-game. This assures minimal to no input lag. (144 HZ monitor) Capping the FPS to the monitor's refresh rate will also get rid of screen tearing.
